Myriophyllum
Cuif, 1975:60
Cuif 1975:60 proposed a new generic name, Myriophyllum, for Triassic coral Myriophyllia Volz, 1896:74 (type species Myriophyllia badiotica Volz, 1896:75, non Loretz) a homonym of Jurassic coral Myriophyllia d'Orbigny 1849:8 (type species Meandrina rastellina Michelin, 1843).
Myriophyllum Cuif, 1975:60 is a replacement taxon for Myriophyllia Volz, 1896: 74.
Type Species
Myriophyllia badiotica Volz, 1896: 75; Unknown
Type Specimen: Unknown; ; Not Traced; Unknown
Two forms named as Myriophyllia badiotica Volz, most probably represent different taxa: this described in Cuif 1976:61,62 with illustrations: pl.4,fig.1 and text-fig.5 is characterized with a different set of generic features than that presented in Volz, 1896: text-figs 41 and 42. To clarify the situation, a revision of the both is needed.
