Type Locality: Late Cretaceous (Maastrichtian): Seymour Island, Antarctic Peninsula
Classification
Diagnosis
Corallum trochoid, with a pointed base and circular in cross section; GCD up to 7.5 mm; theca imperforate, but externally pitted; costae beaded, originating by trifurcation; septa hexamerally arranged in 4 cycles; a crown of 6 prominent P2; columella rudimentary.

Remarks
This genus and family was monographed by Cairns (1997), which included a phylogenetic analysis based on morphology. Monotypic, and known with certainty from only 1 specimen. Based on re-investigation of the type material, Baron-Szabo (2008, p. 82) grouped the genus Laminocyathus with the genus Alveolocyathus.
