Type Specimen: Holotype; ; Not Traced; Unknown
Type Locality: Campanian of Spain (Torallola, Lerida).
The holotype of the type species is housed at MGSB (Barcelona) under 60202.
Classification
Remarks
In contrast to statements by Reig Oriol (1997, p. 17), his newly created genus has both rhipigogyriid but not placosmiliid skeletal structures and septoparathecal walls. In addition, Lamnastrea shows extracalicinal-marginal budding; lamellar columella; well-developed endothecal, perithecal, and exothecal dissepiments; thus it very closely corresponds to Ogilvinella. Therefore, their synonymy was suggested (Baron-Szabo, 2002, p. 90).
