Orbigny, 1849: 8
Type Species
Montlivaltia granulosa Műnster, 1841: 35, pl. 2, fig.5; Monotypy d'Orbigny, 1849:8
Type Specimen: Holotype; BSPG AS VII 293; Verified; Dry Preserved

Classification
Diagnosis
Solitary and phaceloid. Calices moderately convex. Columella parietal, papillar or compact and polytrabecular. Radial elements abundant, subequal in thickness. Distal border moniliform, lateral faces with granules and synapticulae. Dissepiments thin-walled, small, abundant.
Description
Muenster's type specimen of M. granulosa was described and figured in Cuif, 1975:52, pl.2, fig. 1,2 and microstructure of this species well characterized and figured in text-fig. 2 and 3.
Comparisons
The genus differs from other solitary genera with abundqant septa, Myriophyllum Cuif and Omphalophyllia Laube, especially, in the structure of its radial elements: far smaller diameters of trabeculae, granular micromorphology of septal sides, and abundant synapticulae.
Remarks
Among corals described in Volz as Myriophyllia, there are species of the characteristics of Conophyllia d'Orbigny.
