Trochopsis Ehrenberg, 1834, p. 277 is a nomen vanum (unavailable and invalid), see Turbinolopsis Lamouroux, 1821, p. 84.

published as a junior objective synonym of Turbinolopsis Lamouroux 1821. Wells 1956 strangely proposed the synonymy with Microsolena, despite the solitary nature of Trochopsis.
