Type Locality: Campanian of Spain (Torallola).
The holotype of the type species is housed at MGSB (Barcelon) under 47206.
Classification
Remarks
In contrast to the original diagnosis of the genus Placocolumastrea by Reig Oriol (1989, p. 6), this taxon is characterized by cerioid polyp integration (plocoid integration type according to Reig Oriol). In addition to all other characteristics, it closely corresponds to the genus Columactinastraea Alloiteau.
