Summary

pl. Carinae, adj. Carinate ridge a flange on the septal face, parallel with the axis of a septal trabecula, often intergradational with aligned granules or spines on septal faces. Yardarm or crossbar carinae have flanges which are coincident on opposite faces of septa. Zigzag carinae have flanges which are slightly offset on opposite faces of septa. See also Colline.
