tabularium

Summary

pl. Tabularia zone occupied by tabulae. In heliolitid and halysitid corals, tabularia correspond to corallite centres, since unlike other tabulate corals, the boundary between adjacent centres is not marked by a wall with median lines; tubules are often present beyond the tabularia. In scleractinians, though 'tabularium' may be logically applicable, it has rarely if ever been used.
