Summary

the intercorallite areas occurring in some polycentric corals whose centres are widely separated by septocostal and other structures. By extension, this term might also be applied to the tubule zone of heliolitoid tabulate corals, and the dissepimentarium of aphroid rugosans. (True coenosteum is confined to plocoid or partly plocoid corals.)
