Type Locality: Oxfordian from Gémaux (Côte d'Or; France)
The type-specimen was labelled Helioseris bombonneli in the Ferry's collection. The species is dedicated to M Bombonnel "le célèbre tueur de panthères". The original description fits well with the specimen.
Classification
Description
Massive lamellar cerioid corallum. Radial elements compact, free, straight to curved septa of Montlivaltid structure. Distal edge regularly dentate. Lateral faces with steeply inclined carinae (with regards to horizontal). Hexameral symmetry difficult to decipher, bilateral symmetry not obvious. Endotheca made of small vesiculose dissepiments. Small fossa. Wall like in Isastrea.
