Type species well described by Cairns (1995).

Classification

Diagnosis

Corallum colonial, bushy, formed by extracalicular budding, usually at right angle to parent corallite; corallites also bonded by slender hollow tubular coenosteal bridges; pail and columella absent; tabular endothecal dissepiments common and widely spaced.

Remarks

Monotypic. This genus is one of the major framework forming deep-water corals in the New Zealand region.
