Classification
Description
Description of the syntype: Small dome shaped silicified colony. Plocoid. Extracalicular increase. Corallite nearly as deep as large. Lower surface not preserved. Peritheca costulate with confluent costae. More costae than septa, probably abortive septa in the wall. Radial elements are compact straight costosepta. Septal part attenuated. Very regular radial hexameral symmetry. Typical large corallite show 3 cycles (sensu Milne Edwards). Septa of the first cycle possibly join the axial structure. Difficult to say the part of septal structure (tigelle), of endotheca and the exaggeration by diagenetic processes. Lateral and distal ornamentation and microstructure not observable. Essential strong styliform columella. Endotheca not observable. Synapticulae absent. Wall in relief parathecal or close to a paratheca.
Remarks
The genus name was never used as such since Mc Coy 1848. It was considered as a junior synonym of Stylina since Milne Edwards (1857)
