Type Specimen: Lectotype; NHMUK R13137; Verified; Dry Preserved

Type Locality: Sinemurian Zone à raricostatus of Fenny Compton (Great Britain) The label says "L.Lias charmouthian, zone of U. jamesoni"

The type specimen was figured in and redescribed in Beauvais 1976, p. 51, pl. 8 fig. 8 and text fig. 3 There is another sample R2679 named "holotype" figured by Duncan 1868.
