Diagnosis

Corallum trochoid, with a pointed base and circular in cross section; GCD up to 8 mm; theca imperforate but externally pitted; costae serrate, originating by trifurcation; septa hexamerally arranged in 4 cycles; 1 crown of 6P2; columella papillose.

Comparisons

Differs from Laminocyathus in having a papillose columella.

Remarks

This genus and family was monographed by Cairns (1997), which included a phylogenetic analysis based on morphology. Monotypic, known form few specimens.
