Type Locality: Bathonian, Thenay, (Indre, France)
Description
of the holotype. Small massive colonial corallum having the shape of the tip of a finger, including the radial elements which recall the fingerprints. Cerio-meandroid with non confluent to subconfluent radial elements. Radial elements are compact, sinuous anastomosed pennular septa or costosepta. Microstructure unknown. Parietal columella. Endotheca not observed or thick and confused with synapticules. Wall present nature unknown. Synapticules probably present in the peripheral region.
Comparisons
Digitosmilia could be a young Microphyllia.
Remarks
Known only by the holotype of the type-species.
