Nomen substitutum replacing Cyclophyllia Roniewicz 1989: 26, a homonym of Cyclophyllia Milne Edwards et Haime, 1848, which is a junior synonym of Aspidiscus Koenig, 1825.
Cycliphyllia Roniewicz, 1991: 239 is a replacement taxon for Cyclophyllia Roniewicz, 1989.

Diagnosis
Phaceloid, increasing by marginal budding; costae lacking (radial elements of septal type); septal faces with sharp granules, inner margin dissociated into subhorizontal, thin trabecular projections; vesicular dissepiments large and crossing the lumen; wall epithecal. Microstructure: Midseptal zone showing trabeculae that turn from slightly declined from the vertical at periphery, to the subhorizontal level (observed in longitudinal section). Epithecal stereome thick.
Description
Well described and illustrated in original description by Schäfer et Senowbari-Daryan, 1978:125, l.3,fig.4 a,b,5. Additionally illustrated morphology and microstructure of septa in Roniewicz 1989:pl.1,fig.1,4-6; pl.2,fig.1 a-d.
Comparisons
Cerioid Kompsasteria Roniewicz, 1989:30 is the only genus similar in the septal and endothecal structures.
Remarks
Two species are known in the Late Triassic.
