Type Species

Type Specimen: Syntype; ; Not Traced; Unknown

Type Locality: Aptian (Gargasian) of Spain (Aragon, Huesca).

The type material is housed at MNHN (Paris) under R.10884. According to Alloiteau (1957, p. 200), Cyathophoropsis differs from Cyathophora in having intercalicular pillars. However, re-investigation of the type material of the type species by Baron-Szabo in 2009 revealed that it very closely corresponded to Cyathophora.
