Classification
Diagnosis
Corallum ceratoid to trochoid, with a pointed base and circular in cross section; GCD up to 10 mm; theca imperforate; costae ridged and serrate, originating by trifurcation; septa hexamerally arranged in 4 cycles; one crown of 6P2; columella papillose.
Comparisons
Differs from Alveolocyathus in having an imperforate theca.
Remarks
This genus and family was monographed by Cairns (1997), which included a phylogenetic analysis based on morphology.
