Type Locality: Misurina, Dolomites, Italy. Carnian, Late Triassic
Additional material from different localities in the Dolomites are housed at UMIP Museum of Paleontology at the University in Modena.

Description
Morphological features are presented in Volz 1896: pl.7, fig. 23-31. The microstructure is well described and illustrated in Cuif 1975:55,text-fig. 4; pl.3,fig. 1-5.
Comparisons
From other genera of the family Reimaniphylliidae it differs in a strong monoaxial columella and presence of menianes.
Remarks
In classical region of the Dolomites from where Craspedophyllia was described, there are known four species.
