Comophylliopsis

Alloiteau, 1957, p. 294

Comophylliopsis Alloiteau, 1957, p. 294 is a junior synonym (available and invalid), see Microphyllia Orbigny, 1849: 8.

Re-investigation of the type material housed at the MNHN (Paris) by Baron-Szabo in 2009 revealed that the only syntype that could be found of the type series was A30256. This specimen is unrecognizably preserved. The documentation of the specimen that had been used by Alloiteau (1957) to described the genus Comophylliopsis, however, seems to closely correspond to Microphyllia Orbigny, 1849. The latter specimen could not be found in the Paris collections.
