Invalid, a junior synonym of Thamnasteria . The genus Centrastrea is for long considered as a synonym of Thamnasteria. After observation of the type material, this traditional view is confirmed.

Type Specimen: Holotype; BSPG AS VII 1910; Verified; Dry Preserved
Type Locality: Cited from Upper Jurassic of Wurttemberg, Boll but Quenstedt expressed some doubts about the locality and thought the sample comes from Nattheim.
The calicular surface of the original was moulded with plastiline in order to provide a positive.
Classification
Description
Massive thamnasterioid corallum. Radial elements are compact or subcompact, sinuous, anastomosed biseptal sheets. Distal edge finely dentate. Hexameral arrangement is not deciphered, bilateral symmetry marked by curvature of biseptal sheets. Endotheca superficial, styliform columella not prominent in every corallites, adtrabecular bars, no wall.
