Diagnosis

Radial elements are compact free costosepta. Septa straight or slightly curved. Lateral faces smooth or showing granules without a clear directional arrangement. The inner margin is ornamented of small regular teeth. Septal microstructure unknown. Septa cyclically arranged. A discreet bilaterality is observed due to the elongation of the columellar space (often a S1 shorter than others) and weak curvature of septa. Parathecal wall. Two zone-endotheca with a peripheral zone of vesicular dissepiments and a central zone of tabular dissepiments. The most original apomorphy of the family is the occurrence of channels linking corallites across the peritheca. Dissepiments go across these channels. No columella, no pali, no synapticula.
