Diagnosis

Radial elements are compact costosepta with a small costal part, free or linked to the columella but never contratingent. Septa generally straight or slightly curved according to the bilateral plan, rarely kneed. Lateral faces nearly smooth. The inner margin is ornamented of regular teeth and connecting rods with columella (tigelle from Gill, 1977). Some of these teeth could be recognised as auriculae. The septal microstructure is characterized by small trabecules arranged in a mid-septal line which is rather straight in the axial part and rather in zigzag in the wall region. Septa arranged hexamerally in regular cycles. The bilaterality is mainly marked by the elongation of the elongation of the columellar space and the consecutive relative shortening of dorsal and ventral S1. Septo-trabeculothecal wall. Tabular endotheca. Columella lamellar to papillose in an elongated columellar space. No pali, no synapticulae.
