Type Locality: "Barabatto in the Yap Islands". Caroline Islands, Micronesia (Recent)
Barabattoia mirabilis was synonymized with Parastrea amicorum Milne Edwards and Haime, 1850 (=Barabattoia) by Veron, Pichon, and Wijsman-Best (1977, p.32) in their description of the "Favia amicorum complex".
