Type Locality: Valley Alakir Cay, Taurus Mountains, Turkey. Early Norian, Late Triassic
Three specimens have been mentioned in the original description; museum, collection and number of the type material have not been indicated.
Classification
Diagnosis
Solitary. Wall epithecal, pellicular. Septa thin, those of the first two-three size orders reach the corallite center. Septal faces with long menianes showing ornamented borders. Microstructure trabecular. Endotheca dissepimental.
Description
Well described and characterized microstructurally in Cuif 1975:92-94, .
Comparisons
Easily identifiable coral. No corals having comparably thin, and long septa with menianes are known among solitary forms.
Distribution
- Southern Europe; Late Triassic
