Type Locality: Forcella di Sett Sass, Dolomites, Southern Alps. Carnian. Late Triassic
The species re-described, illustrated and discussed in Cuif 1967:903 based on the holotype and topotypes from Forcella di Sett Sass; microstructural description based on the topotype. In Cuif 1975:140, further remarks on the type species and new illustrations: text-fig.24 and pl.15,fig.1-5.
Classification
Diagnosis
Cerioid.Increase intracalicular. Columella styliform. Wall septothecal built of thickened peripheral septal margins. Distal septal margin nearly smooth. Septal sides covered with granules in ranges paralleling distal margin. Inner margin with elongated projections. Dissepiments not abundant. Trabeculae of 70-80µm in radial diameter.

Comparisons
With granulated septal sides it differs from similar in colony type and corallite diameters Tropiastraea Cuif, 1967:905 having strong menianes.
Remarks
Two species from the Carnian and three species from the Early Norianwerre described.
