Classification
Diagnosis
Phaceloid - thmnasterioid. Increase by marginal intracalicular budding with lamellar, temporary linkages between centers of adult and daughter corallites. Radial elements septocostal and biseptal. Endotheca dissepimental. Epitheca pellicular. Microstructure margarophylliid, with midseptal zone zigzag, and with lateral subvertical rows of thick granules.
Description
Well described and illustated in Melnikova 1996 (see above) and 2001:56,pl.17,fig.1
Comparisons
From phaceloid Margarosmilia which increased by intracalicular budding producing equivalent corallites without skeletal linkages between centers, Thamnomargarosmilia differs by peripheral inception of centers with lamellar linkages with the center of the adult corallite and formation of temporary thamnasterioid relations within phaceloid corallum.
