Stylogyra
Orbigny, 1849, p. 6
Stylogyra Orbigny, 1849, p. 6 is a junior synonym (available and invalid), see Rhipidogyra Milne Edwards and Haime, 1848, p. 468.
Invalid, considered as a junior synonym of Rhipidogyra. In his paper of 1849, d'Orbigny defined the genus Stylogyra with the following expression : "C'est un Rhipidogyra, avec une columelle en lame…." and he gave the name of the type-species Lobophyllia flabellum Michelin. This type species is also the type species of Rhipidogyra ME and H 1848. Consequently, both genera are objective synonyms. Subsequent authors never used Stylogyra.
