Type Species
Dendrophyllia brevicaulis Michelin, 1841, p. 17, pl. 4, fig. 5; Original Designation de Fromentel, 1870, p. 383
Type Specimen: Holotype; ; Not Traced; Unknown
Type Locality: Upper Turonian of France (Uchaux, Vaucluse).
De Fromentel (1870) used the same material to create his genus Stenosmilia that Milne Edwards and Haime (1848) had used to described their taxon Barysmilia.
