Type Species

Type Specimen: Holotype; ; Not Traced; Unknown

Type Locality: Campanian of northern Spain (Torallola, Lerida).

The holotype of the type species is housed at MGSB (Barcelona) under 55832.

Remarks

According Reig Oriol (1995, p. 9), his newly created genus Pseudostylocora was a styliniid taxon, characterized by: polyps in branching-ramose integration; septa costate; septothecal wall; extracalicinal budding; styliform columella; the lack of both endothecal dissepiments and pali. However, the holotype of the type species as presented by Reig Oriol (1995, pl. 1, fig. 2) shows the fragment of a rather dendroid-phaceloid form that shows endothecal developments, thus very closely corresponding to Stylosmilia. Therefore, their synonmy is suggested.
