The type species is well described by Cairns (2000).
Synonyms
Diagnosis
Corallum colonial, encrusting; extracalicular budding from common basal coenosteum; costae granular; axial edges of septa finely serrate to smooth; paliform lobes before septa of penultimate cycle; columella trabecular; endotheca present.
Remarks
The genus is need of a revision. It contains approximately 12 species, 8 of those Recent (Cairns, et al., 1999). It was recently transferred from the Rhizangiidae to the Caryophylliidae by Cairns (2000)
