Type Locality: Barremian to Lower Aptian of Tanzania.
The type material of the type species is housed at MB (Berlin) under K.1391.
Classification
Diagnosis
Like Actinarea but calices are not independent from perithecal colony tissue (similar as in Actinacis), corallites therefore with variably thamno-plocoid to thamno-cerioid integration (Baron-Szabo, 2014a, p. 53).
Description
Colonial, thamnasterioid, subcerioid. Gemmation intracalicinal. Costosepta confluent, regularly perforated, granulated laterally, dentate marginally. Anastomosis frequent. Columella of thin, trabecular segments, surrounded by trabecular lobes. Synapticulae present. Endothecal dissepiments tabulate. No wall between corallites. Trabeculae simple.
