Type Locality: Upper Turonian to Campanian of Austria (Gosau Group).
The lectotype (designation by inference, see M. Beauvais, 1982, vol. I, p. 231) of the type species is housed at NHMW (Vienna) under 1859/0050/0348a.
Classification
Diagnosis
Colonial, phaceloid-subdendroid. Budding extracalicular. Costosepta compact, arranged radially and bilaterally, finely granulated laterally. Columella lamellar. Endothecal dissepiments thin and vesicular, abundant. Wall septothecal. Epithecal wall present.
Remarks
Nefophyllia is similar to Aulosmilia Alloiteau, but forms phaceloid-subdendroid colonies.
