Type Specimen: Neotype; MMH 2043; Verified; Dry Preserved

Type Locality: Paleocene (Middle Danian): Denmark

Holotype lost, the neotype designated by Floris (1972, p. 76). Type species best described and figured by Floris (1972). Mineralogical Museum of the University of Copenhagen

Classification

Diagnosis

Corallum colonial, dendroid, achieved by equal intratentacular budding; theca granular (not epithecate); pali absent; trabecular columella well developed; dissepiments present but rare.

Comparisons

Very similar to Solenosmilia, but differing in growth shape.
