Description
Massive subcerioid colony producing simple superficial corallites by intracalicular budding (clearly cerioid on lower surface of the type specimen). Incomplete theca made of various elements (costae, dissepiments, synapticules). Compact confluent to subconfluent costosepta, generally free but sometimes anastomosed by their inner edge. Ornamentation of septa poorly known, some granules seem to be flattened. Trabecules 260-320 micrometers. radial and bilateral symmetry marked by the torsion of septa. Small well marked calicular pit on upper surface but septa joining in the center in depth. No holotheca visible (lower face of the type bioeroded). Endotheca made of vesicular dissepiments
Comparisons
The genus seems to be very close of Isastrea. The ornamentation of septa with flattened granules could be a significant difference.
