Classification

Description

Phaceloid corallum with an extracalicular marginal increase. Radial elements are septa stricto sensu, nearly smooth, septal faces, inner and distal edge not (or very few) ornamented, mostly attenuated, arranged in radio-bilateral symmetry. An enlarged axial septum characterizes the dorso-ventral plan. Six subequal systems. The wall was described as an "archeotheca" made of two layers, a lamellar inner layer and a fibrous outer layer. Its transverse section shows external concavities or invaginations corresponding to septa. Subtabular endotheca. No columella, no synapticule.
