Diagnosis
Solitary, turbinate to patellate. Costosepta compact peripherally, perforate inwardly and near upper margins, strongly beaded marginally. Septal flanks covered by granulus that vary is size and shape (e.g., rounded, spine- or hook-like). Columella feebly developed, parietal. Synapticulae abundant. Endothecal dissepiments thin, vesicular to subtabulate. Synapticulothecate, irregularly developed. Septal microstructure consists of compound trabeculae.
Remarks
The holotype of the type species, A. cernua, is housed at the Nat Hist Mus in Paris under M-444.
